Reflectionism (noun): A contemporary art movement in which the artist builds a painting's surface into a three-dimensional form using a painting knife, layer upon layer of oil paint, and classical composition derived from the Golden Mean. The result is a work that physically changes with light and viewing angle, and that cannot be reproduced by photograph. Founded by JD Miller, Dallas, 2001.
